This year has marked the anniversary of 18 months of impressive growth for Spintec Metal Spinning Ltd, who in 2010 started up in an adjacent unit to sister company Highspeed Engineering. MD Ravinder Phull has succesfully run Highspeed Engineering for years now with his father, specialising as precision and general engineers, including tool making, tool repair and sub-contract machining. The Spintec venture was geared towards opening up a more planned and targeted business in the manufacture of dished ends – manufactured through the process of hand and hydraulic spinning.

“Highspeed Engineering has a sterling reputation in the Midlands for the high quality of our work, our fast turn-around time and for helping our customers get out of trouble” said Ravi Phull, MD. “We took a chance when conditions were difficult for midlands manufacturers by investing in a new operation that allowed us to control the pace and flow of work – the company was built and funded by the hard work and family orientated culture from Highspeed, all the hard work is paying off as we are continually investing in new machinery to allow us to target the larger dish end of the market.”

An empty adjacent unit to Highspeed Engineering on Spartan Industrial Estate proved to be the most suitable location and the first spinning machine was bought – a Leifield CNC/PNC– the business is overseen and run by the reliable management of Andy Taylor. Twelve months on, business is booming and the firm has just ordered its third spinning machine – representing significant capital investment and the once near empty unit with one machine has transformed into a bustling manufacturing base, fully equipped with the latest machinery with orders being shipped several times a day.
